Definitions |
| Fatality - the number of fatalities involved in Large Truck and
Bus fatal crashes.

| Fatal crash - a crash where one or more persons dies within 30 days of
the crash. The fatality does not have to occur at the scene of the crash. It includes any person involved in the crash,
including pedestrians and bicyclists, as well as occupants of the passenger cars, trucks, and buses.

FHWA:
Large Truck -
all vehicles on a single frame including trucks, camping and
recreational vehicles, motor homes, etc., having at least two axles
and six tires.
Bus - all vehicles manufactured as traditional passenger-carrying buses with two
axles, six tires and three or more axles. This category includes only
traditional buses (including school buses) functioning as passenger-carrying
vehicles. |

FARS:
Large truck -
single-unit large (i.e. GVWR>10,000 lbs) trucks, single trailer combination
trucks, truck tractors and multiple trailer combination trucks.
Bus - large motor vehicles used to carry more than 10 passengers, including
school buses, inter-city buses, and transit buses. |
