This project uses the FMCSA program effectiveness models and state-specific cost data to explore the allocation of resources to FMCSA safety programs (compliance review, traffic enforcements, and roadside inspections) within a specific state. In the first of these analyses, a prototype state was chosen (Massachusetts), and multiple scenarios were analyzed using the state’s cost and safety program activity data. The goal of this project is to generate a comprehensive, state-specific analysis that provides the state with insight into the utilization of their safety resources. The results of this analysis will be available here in the future.
